Organic buildings are the strength and lightness of the spiders’ spinning, buildings qualified by light, bred by native character to environment, married to the ground.
Frank Lloyd Wright
Feng Shui is the study of how buildings interact with people and the land. Feng Shui studies how buildings are best placed on the land and how people are best placed in the building to accept the best energy. So Frank Lloyd Wright is correct in saying an organic building is married to the ground.
The native character of the environment is crucial to having good Feng Shui. Can we manipulate the environment to spin a better building? Yes, to a certain extent we can. Better to get it right from the beginning if you have the option.
If that is not an option then landscaping can correct certain poor Feng Shui conditions. Changing the slope to maintain energy, creating barriers to change the direction of energy flow, or removing barriers to access energy are a few examples of ways we can improve a less than optimum circumstance.
A well qualified building married to the ground is one that will profit, in many ways, the inhabitants and owners.
