Get a Feel for the Place

An author knows his landscape best; he can stand around, smell the wind, get a feel for his place… Tony Hillerman

This is not only true for authors, or landscape designers. A Feng Shui consultant must experience the location they are evaluating. It is not enough to look at a picture, or floor plan or even a video.

The consultant must “stand around” and observe the surroundings. They must smell the wind, see the neighborhood, experience the light, consider the vegetation, lay a hand on the materials, hear the atmosphere, become familiar with the landscape both of the exterior and the interior.

Only then can they begin their assessment.
